Biography

Tape Runs Out are a 6-piece band based in Cambridge, UK. Their sound inventively weaves electronic and acoustic, with the unusual addition of violin and hammered dulcimer alongside the more familiar guitars, keys and drums. Their distinctive style has variously been described as psych, shoegaze, post-rock and alt-folk.

Started as a solo project in 2012, Tape Runs Out have an extensive back catalogue of six EPs, and released their debut album 'Floodhead' in March 2023, through Trapped Animal Records. Praised as innovative and intricate, Tape Runs Out utilise both experimental song structures and catchy pop melodies to create their own unique form of alternative music.
